TATA DREAM RUN
TATA DREAM RUN
Twenty seven of us signed up for Tata Dream Run! So much of enthusiasm and energy. Most of us had resigned to the fact that a marathon is perhaps one experience that we are too late to aspire for. So when my co- President Parul Shah posted about it in a group, suddenly I was charged with new-found hope. In just two days everyone signed up. We were Gold Sponsors – one of the three clubs in the District to do so. Finally on the day of reckoning only 15 of us could go. Bharati Shenvi, who could not come, booked a bus for us. With disco lights blinking we went joyfully.
Kusuma Rao, Rajanish Lokhande, Nalini Raghavan, Kalpana Jaishankar, Jaishankar Krishnan, Ruchi Agarwal, Rakesh Aggarwal, Latha Vanamali, Vanamali Ramaswami, Dr Monica Bhatia, Dr Sanjeev Bhatia, Chitra Hari Prakash, HariPrakash Moothedath, Pallavi HariPrakash and Kishore Degwekar – you literally showed me you are with me in this run for a cause! Thank you!
Dream Run was a unique experience. In the milling crowd we saw men on Jaipur foot walking with a smile shoulder to shoulder with every one. We saw young men and women supporting several causes – education of girls, cancer victims, equal opportunities for the disabled, safety for women… this was the most beautiful part. There is so much to be proud of! The youth of our nation are responsible, strong and focused!
